BOARD GOALS 2011-2012

ACHIEVING EXCELLENCE
1. Create an environment of excellence in all facets of the district that leads to student achievement and success. All actions of staff members will create a culture of excellence which supports the mission statement of the district.
2. Achieve all levels of accountability including NCLB (AYP), QPA, NCA, among others, to a satisfactory level. The emphasis will be on creating a dynamic student learner who in the process of that learning, achieves to a high level on assessments.
3. Create a specialized emphasis on character education focusing on community service. Develop opportunities for students to provide service and leadership to the community. Implement programs that use service as a model for action.
4. Create a culture of respect for others and property. This includes implementing support systems for students, staff, and infrastructure. The emphasis is on how each individual (both staff member and student) can improve both the lives of the people around them and the environment in which they exist.
5. Increase participation in all extra-curricular activities. This includes athletic, non-athletic, and recreation activities. To develop the whole person a concerted, holistic program will be implemented to increase student participation.
